any interest in 80s cartoons marathons?
Hi!  New here, but grew up in the 80s and miss those (cartoon) days so badly.
Would any one here be interested in doing marathon watch-a-longs, say one series every Saturday (unless a show had more than one series than it would take a few weeks)?
The only problem is, I'd love to use something like Livestream, where you can watch and chat at the same time, but I don't think it is made for watching recorded programs.  Also, I do not have a second computer and webcam, or else I could play the episodes on one computer and livestream it by pointing the webcam at it.
Any suggestions for how to do a watch-a-long?  Any cartoon series preferences?

Dog detective
I'm trying to recall the name of a series in the 80's (though it could have been the 90's) that involved a muppet dog who drew a dog detective, the latter of whom I think was name Ace Spade or something similar. The cartoon dog's adventures - as I recall - reflected those of the artist's, including a girlfriend named Rosy, whose personality changes when the artist's girlfriend changes later in the season.

The Hub's TMZ-inspired Jem promo
The Hub has an amusing Jem promo, apparently inspired by the gossip site, TMZ. The format is quite accurate, barring the obvious exclusion of TMZ's standard blue humor. Toonzone.net has the embedded video, so click the link and view. Enjoy the promo, as it is a fitting follow-up to my previous entry. Furthermore, Jem can now be seen up to three times a weekday on the Hub, which is definitely a good thing.

"Jem and the Holograms" marathon on Hub
The Hub is airing a three-hour marathon of "Jem and the Holograms," today, which started at 2:00 PM EST. Plus, the network will be re-airing the series, starting next week. As compensation for my unfortunate belatedness, the link has the Hub's remix promo with voiceover by YouTube's "Honey Badger." Other popular 80's series have been appearing on there, as well (e.g., Fraggle Rock, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and Transformers G1), which definitely gives hope for future pick-ups in the genre and/or in Hasbro's 80's animated library. In the meantime, enjoy the promo.

Old vs New
By now most of you know about the new Care Bears (and Cousins) as well as the new versions of Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, and He-man (I'm not going into the new version of Transformers or My Little Pony since those tend to update pretty regularly). What are your thoughts? Was the old better or is the new better? What would you do if you could?

my lil pony blooper
I was watching an old My little pony movie  Escape from Catrina one of me faves from childhood. (gotta love netflix) anyways there is a scene were Megan is trying to get a handful of baby ponies to take a nap and they dont want to so Megan tricks them by using reverse psycology. They sing this song "Lets not take a nap" and plays with the babies till they get tired. During the song one of the baby pegases Baby suprise (she was a white baby pony with green hair) has both a horn and wings making her a pegus pony and a unicorn pony at the same time and then in the next shot or two its gone. I thought it was interesting

Trying to recall an old movie...

This was one of my favorite movies when I was younger - it was a cartoon and I am pretty sure it was made in the eightees. It's been so long since I watched it and even though I remember exactly what happened to the tape (I taped over it accidentally), sometimes I feel like it doesn't actually exist and I made it up in my head.

This is the only part I can really remember:

All I know was that there was this beautiful girl and for some reason there was this ugly goblin type guy with her, only he was actually a prince. And this part was at the end, but he was in this dark cave area and she was running after him, and he looked at his reflection in the water and he either stomped on it or slapped it away or something...

And I think the theme song was something like Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now by Jefferson Starship or some other cheesy 80s song like that...

Please help me, I've been trying to remember this movie for, literally, years!
